Helping to feed Victoria with Alex Makes Meals

On Thursday, 27 April, Cornucopia Managing Director, Ross Howe and Head of Operations, Liam Malcolm, had the incredible opportunity to work alongside a remarkable Australian charity called Alex Makes Meals during their annual fundraising event, ‘Feast to Feed Victoria.’

The event, held at St Kilda Town Hall, showcased some of Australia’s top chefs preparing a unique fundraising degustation dinner, all to support the charity’s work providing food relief for people facing hardship across Greater Melbourne.

Among the participating chefs were Tom Sarafian (Sarafian), Al Dente, Adam D’Sylva (Lollo), Allessandro Lupolo (Ex-Attica) and former Masterchef contestant Minoli De Silva (Ella By Minoli). Their culinary prowess and dedication to the cause truly elevated the evening, making it a memorable feast for all attendees.

During the night, our very own Liam Malcolm and Ross Howe spoke to diners about the need to support Alex Makes Meals, and invited people to sign up as Regular Givers or make a single gift donation. The response from guests was fantastic, with over $25,000 being raised on the night, alongside approximately 15 people committing to giving an average of $40 each month as ongoing supporters.

Ross Howe says, “The Feast to Feed Victoria event was a resounding success, raising substantial funds and awareness for Alex Makes Meals, which ultimately means more help for people going hungry in Melbourne. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Alex Makes Meals and creating a positive impact in the community, one meal at a time.”

Alex Dekker, Founder of Alex Makes Meals expressed his thanks to Cornucopia saying, “I want to thank Liam and Ross for everything they did on the night. They were absolutely incredible!”
