Autumn is a fantastic time to enjoy the cooler weather and beautiful scenery of Australia while supporting a whole range of worthy causes.
Participating in activity-based fundraising events is a fun way to stay active and give back.
From hiking to cycling, here are seven events happening in Australia this autumn that offer exciting ways to get involved.
MS Walk + Fun Run
The MS Walk + Fun Run attracts thousands of Australians each year in cities all over the country.
The event offers a range of distances and challenges, from a leisurely walk to a challenging run, and all proceeds go towards research and support for people living with multiple sclerosis.
The Bloody Long Walk
The Bloody Long Walk is a unique 35km walk where participants raise funds for the Mito Foundation.
The foundation supports people affected by mitochondrial disease (mito), funds essential research into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cures of mitochondrial disorders, and increases awareness and education about this devastating disease.
Tour de Cure
The Tour de Cure is a multi-day bike ride that takes place in various regions of Australia each year.
Participants can choose from different routes and distances, from a one-day ride to a multi-day adventure. All proceeds go towards vital cancer research, support, and prevention.
Stadium Stomp
Stadium Stomp is a one-of-a-kind event that takes place in major stadiums across Australia.
Participants climb up and down the stadium stairs, with the aim of completing as many circuits as possible within the allocated time.
All proceeds go towards the chosen charity of each event, which changes every year.
Cycle for Life
Cycle for Life is an annual cycling event that takes place in Sydney each autumn.
Participants can choose from a range of distances and challenges, from a family-friendly ride to a challenging 100km route.
Funds raised go towards the Children’s Cancer Institute, which funds research into childhood cancer.

Coastrek
Coastrek is a 30-60km hike that takes place along the stunning coastlines of Sydney, Melbourne, and the Gold Coast in autumn.
Participants can choose from a range of distances and routes, and all funds raised go towards the Fred Hollows Foundation, which works to end avoidable blindness in Australia and around the world.
MS Brissie to the Bay
This local event (at least for our Brisbane team!) will be on at the beginning of winter (Sunday 11 June 2023), and members of the Cornucopia team will be there.
For over 30 years, the MS Brissie to the Bay bike ride has been an iconic part of the Brisbane cycling scene and is a favourite among many, from family and friend groups to large companies and experienced riders.
This ride is more than just a fun day out on the bike; thousands of amazing riders take part to raise vital funds to help change the lives of the thousands of Queenslanders living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and other neurological conditions.
